Insulation jackets are ideal to insulate butterfly valves. Not only do they protect butterfly valves from damage and heat loss, but they also make the workplace safer for you and your workforce. Here’s how great valve jacket insulation is, in our humble opinion.

Saves Energy: Valves jackets are made with top-quality silicone glass cloth and contain 50mm Rockwool insulation. The low-conductivity mineral wool used helps prevent heat loss in butterfly valves. This leads to energy savings, which in turn helps make your building energy efficient and reduces your carbon footprint.

Safer Workplace: Since valve covers help reduce heat loss, they protect butterfly valves from condensation or sweating issues. This helps reduce instances where water drips from the valves and forms tiny pools, which can lead to accidents or mishaps, thus injuring personnel. Personnel is protected from coming in direct contact with the hot surface of the butterfly valves, thanks to these insulation jackets. Valve

Easy to install: Valve jackets are provided with pull cords (drawstrings) and velcro straps which help give airtight insulation even around the awkward angles of the butterfly valves. Also unlike hard, traditional insulation, valve covers are flexible and lightweight. They can be easily removed and reinstalled within minutes, thus reducing the installation time by half.

Protection from moisture and damage:  The external butterfly valve covers are made with PVC cloth on the outer and silicone glass cloth on the inner side of the cover. The PVC cloth makes these valve jackets waterproof and more resilient to damaging external conditions.

Butterfly Valve Insulation Jackets

Valve jacket insulation is a simple yet effective way to insulate butterfly valves. Other than restricting heat loss from butterfly valves, valve jackets also help prevent condensation and sweating in them.

With our years of experience in the construction field, especially in technical insulation dealing with pipes, valves, ducts etc, we have come to appreciate the effectiveness and the ease of use of valve jackets. Here at Buy Insulation Online, we bring you a wide variety of top-quality valve jacket insulation, because we know it will help you a lot.

We appreciate your business and are always here to help you, should you need assistance. Valve jackets for butterfly valves are supplied in standard grey and standard black colours. They are made using trade-quality fibreglass cloth and mineral wool insulation.

Valve covers for butterfly valves are available in standard sizes ranging from 15mm to 500mm. However, if you are unsure of the size you need or require custom-made jackets, you can send in the images of the butterfly valves you need insulating and we can help you determine the size.

If you need bespoke butterfly valve jacket insulation, please feel free to email or call us, and we will be at your service. We also do site surveys to help you determine the type, size and quantity of valve jacket insulation you need. If you want us to visit your site, you can fill out the survey form above, email or call us.

Now, lets us know more about butterfly valve jacket insulation:

What are butterfly valves?

A butterfly valve is one in which a disc is attached to a rod to create the "butterfly." The disc spins to allow fluid to flow through when the valve opens. It is something like this.

Why insulate butterfly valves?

As warm or cold water flows through the butterfly valves, they tend to lose or gain heat. Also, if there is a significant temperature difference between the valve and the water temperature, you can see the valve ‘sweating’ or water begging to condense on the valve.

Using valve covers on butterfly valves helps prevent this. It keeps the valve insulated, so there is a minimum temperature difference and also prevents water or any fluid flowing from losing/ gaining heat.

What are valve covers?

A valve cover or valve jacket is basically a barrier between the valve and its surroundings, that protects it from damage, heat loss and other issues. It is made of silicone-costed fibreglass cloth that contains 50mm of mineral wool insulation.

They are also provided with pull cords and velcro straps for close-fitting around butterfly valves.

What are the benefits of butterfly valve jacket insulation?

Some of the major benefits of valve covers include:

Thermal insulation:

As mentioned earlier, valve covers prevent or restrict heat loss butterfly valves. They are made using mineral wool insulation, which is known for its low thermal conductivity. That means valve covers do not allow heat to pass through them easily.

This converts to lower energy bills and savings. Valve jacket insulation is crucial in industries, factories, plants and other commercial buildings.

Safer Workplace:

Valve covers help prevent condensation and sweating in valves. If butterfly valves are not insulated, they will be prone to heat loss and condensing or sweating. This can form tiny pools of water in the workplace, leading to slips or accidents.

Also, if butterfly valves are not insulated, employees could come in contact with their hot surface, causing burns etc. Insulation jacket for butterfly valves is hence an effective solution to both these problems. Employees will feel safe, with fewer accidents, and you get an efficient workforce.

Smarter Solution:

Traditional, hard and rigid insulation was previously used to insulate butterfly valves. The main issue with this kind of insulation is that it was difficult to remove and reinstall. Insulation would be harmed during maintenance and considered unfit for re-use. It would also increase maintenance time and butterfly valves to be maintained or checked for blocks or issues periodically.

Valve jackets are flexible. They are easy to remove and can just as easily be re-installed. They literally reduce the maintenance time by half. Valve jacket insulation does not harm the butterfly valve in any way.

Where can I buy butterfly valve jacket insulation?

You can buy butterfly valve jacket insulation online right here at Buy Insulation Online. We make them in sizes ranging from 15mm to 500mm in standard grey and standard black colours.

All we need from you is the thickness of the pipe lagging on the pipework and the valve model number, if available. The pipe insulation thickness helps us make these valve covers to suit your needs perfectly.

If you are not sure of the size of the butterfly valve cover you need, you can email us the images of the butterfly valve you need insulating or get in touch with us on Whatsapp or live chat.
