These fibreglass loft insulation rolls by Knauf insulation are environmentally friendly, and lightweight with pre-cut perforations. They are specifically designed for use in cold lofts, where pitched roofs are insulated at ceiling level. The open-cell nature of these fibreglass insulation rolls traps heated air, using its many tiny spaces, thus effectively reducing heat loss through roofs. Knauf loft Insulation rolls are partially cut that enable easy installations in between joists.

Manufactured using a sustainable, unique ECOSE Technology, they are designed to increase site efficiency. These fibreglass loft insulation rolls offer exceptional fire resistance, thermal and acoustic insulation. Knauf loft insulation is lightweight. resilient and durable. The fabric of glass mineral wool does not contain any organic material, hence fibreglass loft insulation does not promote the growth of fungi, mould or bacteria. It is odourless, rot-proof and non-hygroscopic.

Generally speaking, insulation rolls are cheaper, easier to install and easier to handle. However, they may not have as good thermal or acoustic insulation properties as insulation board like PIR and phenolic.  Even mineral wool boards tend to be denser and therefore offer better properties than insulation on a roll. However, they are a great starting for DIY and tradesmen alike and fit to most peoples budget.

  • Fibreglass is more cost-effective.
  • Fibreglass provides excellent insulation properties.

Tips for Maintaining and Maximising Insulation Performance

To maintain and maximise your insulation performance, regularly check for any damage or wear, seal gaps and cracks to prevent heat loss, and monitor moisture levels to avoid mould growth.

Adding extra insulation layers when necessary can improve thermal efficiency, and scheduling professional inspections will help address any issues promptly.

Extension of Insulation Lifespan

Regularly checking your insulation for damage, moisture, or pests is essential to maintaining and enhancing its performance in the long run. To extend the life of your insulation and ensure optimal effectiveness, take into account the following advice:

  • Insulation maintenance: Regularly inspect for any signs of damage to deal with problems promptly.
  • Preventing insulation damage: Avoid compacting the insulation, as this can reduce its thermal resistance and efficiency.
  • Protecting against pests: Seal any entry points in your loft to prevent pests from damaging the insulation material.

Temperature Regulation Efficiency

For excellent insulation performance and temperature regulation efficiency, ensure to consistently check for gaps or compressed areas in the insulation to maintain uniform coverage.

Use a thermal imaging camera to identify heat leaks or inadequate insulation spots. Consider adding extra insulation near areas prone to heat loss, like eaves and loft hatches.

Proper ventilation in the loft is vital to prevent moisture buildup, which can impact insulation effectiveness.

Monitor energy bills to track energy savings and assess the impact on thermal comfort. By following these steps, you can guarantee your insulation is working efficiently to keep your home comfortable and save on energy costs.

Energy Cost Savings

Maximising the performance of your loft insulation is essential for achieving substantial energy cost savings in your home. To ensure you get the best results from your insulation and create a warm and comfortable home environment, take note of the following advice:

  • Regularly inspect for any gaps or damage in the insulation to maintain its effectiveness.
  • Keep a steady temperature in your home to enhance the performance of the insulation.
  • Combine loft insulation with other affordable solutions to lower heating expenses and enhance the comfort of your home.
