Low-E SlabShield is an innovative vapour barrier made of aluminium and recycled closed cell polyethylene. Ideally designed for your use under concrete slabs, its it an ultimate solution for enhancing the energy efficiency and comfort of your building, starting from the ground up. 

This slabshield insulation consists of a 99.4% pure aluminium core, that is sandwiched between two layers of recycled closed cell polyethylene. It also has innovative interlocking tabs that provide a perfect seam when using several rolls side by side.  The foil remains unaffected by the chemical reaction of curing concrete as the foam protects it from coming in direct contact with the concrete. While the first PE foam layer acts as a thermal bridge between the warm slab and the foil, the second layer of foam serves as a thermal break between the foil and the cold hardcore.

This unique combination of foam and foil in this Low-e insulation helps it to distribute heat more evenly across the floor, give a fast response time which results in a more efficient management of heating system.

As the name indicats, the Slabshile insualtion is designed for use under concrete slabs, where floors heights are restricted. It does not crack or crumble when faced with normal job site abuses. Slab Shield remains unaffected by the chemical reaction of curing concrete. As it is only 11mm thick and it moulds itself to the contours of the subfloor, to provide a better and stronger finished floor.  It is puncture resistant up to 93 psi and crush resistant up to 70 psi.

Installing Slabshield insualtion is also relativly easier, as it is lightweight. It cuts easily with a utility knife or scissors. SlabShield is robust enough to take a pour of over 150mm of concrete but requires a minimum 60mm pour of concrete to reduce risk of movement or cracking.
