Marmox Multiboard is a versatile and high-performance insulation board that is perfect for a wide range of applications. It is made from a high-density extruded polystyrene core.  Each face of the Multiboard is covered with a close woven fibreglass mesh embedded into a cement polymer mortar.

Marmox Multiboard has a thermal conductivity (boards above 10mm thickness) between 0.033 to 0.036W/mK, which helps save energy. Using these boards as internal wall insulation
panels will significantly improve the wall’s U value whilst also reducing the risks of surface condensation and mould growth.

Top-grade thermal laminates/thermal plasterboards comprise either PIR or phenolic foam which offers better insulation than XPS. But the fact to note here is that types of boards consist of a sheet of ~ 10mm thick plasterboard which is non-insulating material.  But, Marmox multiboard is all insulation.

The cementitious skin of the Marmox Multiboards is moisture absorbent and thier core is completely impermeable to water which is why Marmox Multiboard can be used as a moisture barrier. With Marmox Multiboard you can be sure that its insulating properties will not deteriorate if the wall or floor becomes damp, which is not something you can say regarding PIR or phenolic insualtion.

Thanks to its core of extruded polystyrene, these waterproof boards can be used as tile backer boards as the core provides the perfect level of porosity to bond with tile adhesive
or plaster. It is this unique combination of the rigid outer shell and the XPS core that makes Marmox multiboards an effective decoupling layer.

Marmox Multiboard is also ideal for use on internal walls, floors, and ceilings as well as in wet environments such as bathrooms, showers, and swimming pools. These Marmox boards are lightweight and easy to handle, making them simple to work with during installation. In fact, it is much lighter compared to other insulation boards.
