Thermafleece Breather Membrane is an innovative product made from a combination of high-performance, breathable materials that create a barrier between the inside and outside of your building.

The breathable membrane allows air to circulate and prevents moisture from building up, which can lead to dampness, mould or condensation. Thermafleece breather membrane has good water vapour resistance.

Thermafleece vapour permeable underlay is designed for use on floors and walls or on top of insulation as a protective layer.

It is easy to install, with a flexible design that is compatible with a variety of construction techniques. The breather membrane is lightweight with good tensile and nail tear strength which makes it easy to work with.

Thermafleece Breather Membrane gets its superior vapour resistance from its innovative make-up that includes 3 layers. The two outer layers are composed of nonwoven polypropylene and an inner breathable microporous film.

Thermafleece membrane is light-grey coloured on one side and white on the other. The roll comes with no text or images on either side, except for on the 150mm overlap line.

The grey side of the Thermafleece breather membrane has a higher UV stability, so its important that it faces outward when used on walls and faces the sky when used on roofs.

When used on the floor, the grey side faces the ground and in a roof, the grey side faces the sky. However, both sides of the membrane are vapour open, so if you do install wrong side out on the floor, it would not impact the vapour membrane's performance.

This product is also environmentally friendly, made from natural and sustainable materials that have a low carbon footprint. It is fully recyclable, making it an excellent choice for eco-conscious builders and homeowners.

Thermafleece Breather Membrane

When using Thermafleece Breather Membrane, make sure to have the black side facing outwards and the grey side facing inwards. This configuration ensures top performance and long-lasting durability, which is essential for optimal results. It's also important to use sharp tools for cutting to preserve the integrity of the membrane. The material is specifically created for effective moisture management and high vapour permeability. By adhering to these instructions, you will enhance the capabilities of this membrane and enhance your building's protection. Further information is accessible to enhance your knowledge of this product.

Main Points

  • UV stability with black side facing outwards and grey side facing inwards
  • High vapour permeability for moisture control
  • Three-layer composition for durability and safety
  • Easy installation with 1.5m width and 16.7m roll length
  • Competitive pricing for cost-effective waterproofing

Installation Guide

When beginning the installation of the Thermafleece Breather Membrane, ensure that the black side is facing outwards and the grey side is facing inwards for the best UV stability.

To install correctly, securely fasten the membrane to the structure using galvanized nails or staples. Maintain a minimum overlap of 100 mm on horizontal joints to maintain integrity.

For vertical lap joints, avoid starting them within 300 mm of corners. This practice helps protect the bottom timber and ensures the membrane functions effectively.

Additionally, consider using temporary protective materials if the membrane will be exposed to severe weather conditions for an extended period.

The Thermafleece Breather Membrane offers excellent tensile strength, tear resistance, and protection against air infiltration, making it ideal for protecting walls and underfloor applications.

By following these installation tips and maintenance instructions, you will achieve optimal performance and durability for your project.

Correct Alignment

When installing the Thermafleece Breather Membrane, ensure that the black side is facing outward and the grey side inward for UV stability.

This positioning ensures efficient moisture control because of its high vapour permeability.

Placing the grey side away from the insulation enhances the membrane's effectiveness and durability.

Correct Installation Method

To ensure the correct installation of the Thermafleece Breather Membrane, it is important to ensure that the black side faces outwards and the grey side faces inwards. This positioning is crucial for optimum performance.

When fitting the membrane, securely attach it using galvanised nails or staples, making sure there is at least a 100 mm overlap at horizontal joints. By following these instructions, you will ensure that the membrane effectively provides UV stability for roofs and walls.

Remember to protect the lower timber by overlapping upper layers over lower ones and avoiding starting vertical lap joints near corners. For advice on maintenance and warranty coverage, consult the instructions supplied with the product.

This installation technique guarantees the membrane's vapour permeability, making it suitable for use in wall and underfloor applications.

Moisture Management Strategy

To optimise proper moisture management and performance, ensure that the Thermafleece Breather Membrane is correctly oriented with the black side facing outward and the grey side facing inward. This orientation not only provides UV stability but also contributes to condensation prevention and humidity control.

The membrane's high vapour permeability allows moisture to escape while serving as a protective shield. Adequate ventilation techniques, in conjunction with insulation compatibility, are crucial for maintaining the membrane's efficiency.

Cutting Techniques

For precise and clean cuts of the Thermafleece Breather Membrane, use a sharp knife or scissors, making sure the integrity of the membrane remains intact. Precision cutting is vital to maintaining the effectiveness of the membrane in your project. When cutting, be careful not to puncture the membrane, as this could impact its performance. If accidental damage or punctures occur during cutting, use suitable tape for repairs to uphold the membrane's durability.

Following maintenance tips for cutting the Thermafleece Breather Membrane accurately is important for proper installation. By adhering to proper cutting techniques, you ensure that the membrane retains its strength, which is essential for its performance. These techniques not only help in achieving clean edges but also aid in preserving the overall durability of the membrane. Remember, accurate cutting plays a significant role in the success of your project and the longevity of the Thermafleece Breather Membrane.
